Life Lessons from Reese Witherspoon

Hi there,

In this video Reese Witherspoon, star of new film WILD, talks starting over, believing in yourself, self esteem, grief, loss, letting go, and letting it all out. And even, how we sometimes repress and take on the emotions of others.

An enlightening and touching interview from “60 Minutes” about her life journey, including taking her career back into her own hands, taking a stand for women, and working on projects that really matter:

Do you relate to any of her emotional experiences? Have you seen her latest film WILD?

Time for a heart to heart? [4 minute video]

Hi there,

Myfanwy here. Hot off the edit suite, here’s my new video…

I’ve been filming experts and people from all walks of life as little ‘tasters’ for Enlighten Me…

When I interviewed Hay House author Dr Menis Yousry about Love, Relationships and Heartbreak, he raised a much bigger issue that I felt deserved its own little film.  I’ve called it “#Face_Time”. Although it could just have easily been called “The Love Connection”, which I thought of just as I finished it!. (I think I’ll call the next project that title).

I hope you find it a reflective, calming and heart-touching short film, especially at this time of year.

I’d love to read your comments below.

Wishing you all a beautiful Christmas full of love (and enlightenment!).

🙂 Myfanwy

PS.  I’m filming and curating videos of elderly people sharing their life lessons. Perhaps you could interview your parents or grandparents during the holidays –  and capture their words of wisdom?

20 years from now? [6 min Video]

THE SPIRIT OF GIVING &
THE WISDOM OF FORESIGHT –

There’s nothing quite like a handmade gift, or a hand written note or card. The ‘letter’ used to represent a piece of the person sending the greeting. In today’s computerised culture, and arguably ‘what’s in it for me?’ society, this video is an amazing story of a teacher who tracks down students and returns the letters he got them to write – to themselves – 20 years beforehand.

Did they live out their dreams?

What an enlightened idea and teacher!

Could you write a letter to yourself to read in 1 or 5 years time? Or send a handwritten letter to someone special?

Resolving Conflict in Relationships

HAPPY RELATIONSHIPS –

Life Lesson: An issue or request from a partner may seem trivial and insignificant to us, but if it’s important to them, then it needs prioritising as important in the relationship.

Nice one The Jeff Yalden Show

Q: Can you Enlighten Me… What have you learned about what’s important to your no. 1?

🙂

Lessons in Forgiveness

Forgiving others can be an absolute challenge. So sometimes we need to know it’s possible. When you need inspiration, look to Nelson Mandela. If you haven’t already seen it, check out this powerful film on his life. If Mandela could forgive and move on. So can we.

‘Mandela – The Long Walk to Freedom’ shows that revenge does not work, that there is power in numbers, and it was Nelson Mandela’s powerful (and peaceful) negotiation skills that were key to bringing about change. This film is so beautifully and perfectly crafted in every way. It teaches the impact and injustice of such horrid supremacy and oppression, and takes you into the life and heart of such a strong, gentle and selfless role model.

Mandela is mandatory viewing in my view.

Life Lessons from funny man – Jim Carrey

WISE WORDS FROM JIM CARREY –

and planting a few seeds in this Commencement Speech, e.g:

“So many of us choose our path based on Fear, disguised as Practicality”. …”You can fail at what you don’t want, so you might aswell take a chance at doing what you love”.

“Your need for acceptance can make you invisible in this world”.

He’ll entertain and enlighten you at the same time.

Life Lessons from Maya Angelou

Beautiful Life Lessons from the beautiful MAYA ANGELOU, who sadly passed away this week. What an angel of enlightenment. And so loving…

“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud”…

Real Success

REAL SUCCESS –

#TheHuffingtonPost founder, Arianna Huffington gave this enlightening talk on re-defining Success beyond just Money and Power, with lessons on working one’s self to Burnout, missing the moments, and much more…

Arianna signposts how Wisdom, Wellbeing, Wonder and Giving are another measure of success. And gives a gentle a reminder questioning:  What’s it all for? … and what really gets said at eulogies!

Can you enlighten me… how do you play the game of life? What do you value? And what advice do you have to help someone you know or love get off the path to burnout?
