Happy 2015! .. Well we’re one week into the new year already. I hope it’s been a fun-filled, love-filled and peaceful start to the year for you. What are your plans for the year? What would you like to achieve? What would you like to share with the world?
Here’s to 2015 being the year we’re True to Ourselves. The year to come out of our shell, so we can…

THE SPIRIT OF GIVING &
THE WISDOM OF FORESIGHT –
There’s nothing quite like a handmade gift, or a hand written note or card. The ‘letter’ used to represent a piece of the person sending the greeting. In today’s computerised culture, and arguably ‘what’s in it for me?’ society, this video is an amazing story of a teacher who tracks down students and returns the letters he got them to write – to themselves – 20 years beforehand.
Did they live out their dreams?
What an enlightened idea and teacher!
Could you write a letter to yourself to read in 1 or 5 years time? Or send a handwritten letter to someone special?
Did you know that Kindness and living from our heart really is good for us, as well as those around us? So says lovely Scottish scientist and Hay House author Dr David Hamilton.
Spreading kindness and giving compassion to others is also a perfect antidote for anyone feeling blue.
David was an interviewee on a documentary I worked on a few years ago. He truly is testament to living from the heart and putting kindness into action.
Just listening to him is very uplifting and enlightening as you’ll see in his video below…
Here’s to Kindness being the new Cool. (wink)

When thinking about travel, we tend to get caught up in the excitement of it all instead of thinking about what it really means to be going somewhere new. You see each time you travel, if you do it right, you have the unique opportunity to come back with more than a few cheap souvenirs and memories—if you do it right, you’ll come back with more respect for others and in turn, a greater world view.
Not to be cheesy, but I think Maya Angelou put it best when she said:
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.
Seeing the world from other people’s perspectives, experiencing life in their shoes not only gives you a better understanding of why they are the…

Are you looking for work?
Well, the wisdom in the following 7 minutes might make all the difference…
Enlightened Entrepreneur, Tim Fargo, in his video blog below, offers you some vital life lessons on how to find a job by targeting your passion, and landing the job you love!
Here’s a few nuggets:
“Be targeted and persistent…
There is a magic, when people come in and are looking for work in a specific company. (If you’ll excuse the analogy), it’s a little bit like if somebody says ‘Hey I’m just looking for a date’. Most people aren’t very interested in that, most people want someone who’s interested in them. Businesses are the same way. People want someone who’s focused on their business’…
Find a place that you’re really hot for…
The passion it’s palpable, you can feel it,
…and when people have that passion and they really want to work somewhere, the chances of you getting that job increase dramatically. So taking the time up front, to look around for the right thing, that’s going to make a bigger difference … than sending out a 100 resumes.”
** If you’re short on time wizz through to 3 mins in **
I second that. I’ve often gone into interviews armed with research about the company, and even the interviewer. It definitely helps to handpick who you really want to work for! And be ready to explain WHY you really really want to work for your chosen company. (Also helps to look them straight in the eyes and reinforce that point just before you shake hands and walk out the door).
And what another great point from Tim: ‘if you love the work you do, it radiates out to the rest of your life’.
The best of luck. Leave a comment if you can. Would love to hear how you’re getting on (we’ve all been there, and some of us still are).

Seems all of us crave freedom, whether it’s dreaming of a Road Trip, or time for Creative Freedom, or escaping something. This sweet new tune by ‘First Aid Kit’ is an uplifting reminder to move beyond our Comfort Zone, when we can.
Because the other side of our Comfort Zone – is Freedom.
And silver linings…
The song goes:
“I won’t take the easy road… there’s hope,
there’s a silver lining”.
“I hear a voice calling out for me…”
Lyrics to song here:
I personally chose not to take the easy road. I heard a ‘call to adventure’ and answered it.
When I was 24 I bought a 1-way ticket to the other side of the world, chasing my dreams – by myself. (From a very safe and cosy life in Australia – to London & US). That might sound scary to some, and it has been challenging, but it paid off. It actually turned out to be the ‘Fast-Track’ to my dreams. A ticket to success. And My Silver Lining after some sad events.
But I’d say it’s a constant, daily choice to take the road less travelled.
With this ‘Enlighten Me’ project, for example, where I’m ‘starting over’, without the safety net or backing of my former long-term employer (who I chose to leave), it feels like once again, I have to bypass the sign saying ‘easy road’…stay geared up to overcome any fears or obstacles…and just keep my eye on the direction I want it all to take. (A much bigger vision, that goes way beyond me).
But I’ll choose the ‘open road’ any day.
‘Cos that’s the road trip of my life.
“Gotta keep on going, looking straight out on the road”
To your freedom,
(Founder, Enlighten Me…)
PS. I’m also a big fan of short Road Trips closer to home for times when you need a new perspective. Like the song says “I’m tired of looking for answers”.

Hot off the press…
Of all the ‘motivational’ videos out there, this one by Prince Ea really gets straight to the heart of the matter.
His video blog aims to give us a shift in perception…to reframe whatever may be holding us back from fulfilling our potential and living our dreams.
“There’s never been a statue erected for a critic….
“Don’t let this negative world get to you, don’t let it win”.
To your happiness…and our collective potential.
